Key Takeaways: The State of Cybersecurity

Five takeaways: The State of Cyber Security - Lewis Manning

  • Cyber security is a business risk and should be treated as such. Companies (and their leaders) often assume it can't happen to them until it does. The reality is that it will happen to most companies.

  • The need for a robust cyber program, including a comprehensive crisis management plan, must be established in advance of a breach. Plan and test cyber event responses, including government agencies.

  • The biggest threats are people related across all areas. To mitigate risks, constant training and education needs to occur.

  • Meeting Compliance standards doesn’t mean you’re secure. Most breaches occur at companies that were fully certified at the time of the breach.

  • The advance of AI is quickly changing the threat landscape and the effectiveness of the attacks.
